I have found the most interaction and sales through word of mouth from other poets. I think what I have seen so far is that the "friendships" are what get you into certain doors. It sucks for those of us who hate "selling" ourselves, but the friendships have been fulfilling at least. Instead of pushing myself to market or sell my work, I have instead been trying to just "enjoy" writing. It matters when someone who "needs" the book finds it. Instead of holding myself on a metric of success against how many books are sold, I have instead felt successful when someone finds the poems they needed to hear. So far, I've only read one book by you, but it was a great, unique read. I loved it! I think your successful in that you are brave in all the things you try. Don't let the algorithm and "it factor" bots get you down. You are so original and cool!

Nice! I cannot agree more with everything you said. I, too, hate feeding the algorithm with yet another writing brand! Jesus, it sucks. My "it" I think is to be heard. I wasn't really listened to much as a kid, at least I feel that way. I want to be validated. To share my very opinionated views and story ideas with the world. To inspire others to feel, be human, and to retaliate against the system. To leave something behind for others that makes some sort of impact on the world. I want my life to mean something. Ok, we'll, those are a few "its" and probably dumb ones. Who knows? But asking the same question... those are my answers. Keep this up, it's yet another venture for you. Thanks for sharing and for not giving up yet!

Yes! I think you and I are a lot alike in that regard--I too wasn't listened to much as a kid, and I definitely want to find my people (slowly, but surely!) 😄

I dont think your "its" are dumb at all, they're very human and relatable!

Well, thanks! I'm always worried my aspirations could come across as ego-driven, and I guess in minor ways they are, but I have different intentions. Anyways, if we keep cracking through our shells... I believe we will eventually see light.
