Book Updates
First things first…
I’ve activated the prelaunch page for the Northern Roseaarde Omnibus!
My plan is to officially launch the Kickstarter sometime in April or May. I currently have a physical copy of both the hardcover and paperback on the way so I can check for quality and all that fun stuff.
This will be a Kickstarter only version for now, so if you want one, be sure to click here or the banner to go follow the project!
Also, as a special for subscribers, I’m going to mark down the price of every tier by around 20%, just for you all. WHEN THAT HAPPENS, I’ll be sure to share the secret links with you. The special price can only be found through the secret links.
I will probably create a separate email announcement when the project officially launches.
2. Other News
I got a new computer. It was expensive and gave me problems immediately. The reason I got one is because five years for a desktop is apparently ancient, and caused all my Adobe products to drag every time I did anything.
So I was excited to get this new one, and while using it, it would randomly shut down while doing very task light things (like be on the internet). I spent almost 2 hours on the phone with a tech agent just to come to the conclusion that I’d better just return this one within the window. Each error report threw a code 41 with some new bug code, so it wasn’t something I could pinpoint. I know all of that is probably boring, but it’s really thrown a wrench in my productivity.
I now have my replacement, and by the way it’s running, it was clear the other computer was seriously messed up.
Speaking of Adobe… They raised their prices AGAIN!
Being the tight wad that I am, I spent about 20 minutes trying to convince the chatbot on their site to give me a better price, so they did. $29.99 per month as opposed to $69.99. While 30 bucks is still expensive for a lot of people (and I don’t know how sustainable that is for me), I use several of the programs for my book stuff, so it was justifiable to complain.
3. Short Stories
Digital Reverie, a short story from last year’s sci-fi Writing Battle was sent out earlier this month, so if you haven’t checked it out yet, here’s the link:
Last Light on a White Night earned an honorable mention in round 1 of my group in the NYC Midnight scary story competition! Out of 3600+ people competing, I was in the top 25%, so that’s kinda cool. I guess I can say I’m a winner.
Should?, a new competition entry for Writing Battle has been submitted, and I got an impact trophy in the 3rd week of judging. I am still waiting for the final results.
The Not Quite Write competition had a prompt this month, but I was really not feeling it, so I dropped the ball on this one.

4. Book Updates
The Northern Roseaarde Series Omnibus
I still haven’t heard back from that agent on book 1, so I’m just going to say it’s a pass. Which is totally fine, because I’ve been doing a ton of work to get the omnibus going. [Don’t forget to follow the campaign!]
I have new art for each cover, which will become 2-page spreads inside the omnibus separating each volume. I’ve also renamed each book to set them apart from the Malazan volume, Reaper’s Gale.
With all of that being said, here are the new covers and titles:

SUBCUTANEOUS Updates
Subcutaneous is now officially with the editor for the month of February! I mentioned before that I’m also querying this one, but I’ve gotten nothing but rejections so far, so I’m probably going to Kickstart this one as well. I have a tentative cover, but I’m sitting on it for now to see if I still like it in a few weeks.
