Let it Rest

Tips for after you type "THE END"

You’re excited about your new manuscript and you want to shout it at the top of the hills! Congrats, you’ve written a full-on novel!

BUT WAIT

Before you do anything else, it’s so important that you let your story sit. Walk away from it for at least a week or two and come back to it with a fresh perspective. I promise by doing this, you’re going to find things you didn’t see when you were entrenched in the writing process, whether it’s typos or plot holes, or something else entirely.

Another good habit to get into is to read out loud to yourself. Sometimes we catch things when we take it in with our ears rather than our eyes.

Did you know I write too? I have an upcoming fantasy Kickstarter omnibus, and you can follow it by FOLLOWING THIS LINK!
